Date Night--for One!

This time, last year, was exactly one week before our wedding.  There were so many parties to go to, and so many last minute things to do.  It was exciting!  Next week, J has something special planned for our one year anniversary.  And I am so looking forward to it.  I have no idea what he has planned, but, I can't wait!

Even though we are now married, J and I enjoy some time apart.  I love him more than one person could love another, but I still cherish my "Me Time".  In fact, I think it's healthy to have time by yourself, regardless of your relationship status.  So, this weekend, J is at a friend's cabin in Northern Michigan, and I'm home by myself.

I'm having a Date Night, Just For Me edition.

I spent the morning chatting with friends, catching up on each others' lives, and setting up times to meet up.  I spent the afternoon hanging out with my cats and going through my closet.  I would say "cleaning out", but yeah, that didn't happen.  Because, I realized that there was no way I could put anything away
-- I planned on wearing EVERYTHING soon.  Right?  Riiiiight? ;)

And around 7 pm, I poured myself a glass of delicious red wine (Sangiovese),
put on my Domestic Diva (!!) apron, and cooked a scrumpdiliumptious chicken stir fry.

What can I say, Perfect Date Night,
For One.

Cuddling with my baby panther.
I love him so much!

This dress was one of my purchases from last Sunday.
And it was only $25.  Great deal--I love it!

I'm really digging lace lately...

This ring is pretty old.  I bought it at a random store at the mall when I was in my late teens.
But, turquoise *always* works.

A chunky necklace I bought at a local grocery store, a few years back.

Ready to cook!

Looks delish, right?

Ta Da!
Dinner, for one.

  1. I so agree with what you have said; I love Stu to death but I need my time away from him as well. We actually do have our own time apart for a weekend every month or so.

I tend to just put on my favorite PJs, grab a glass of wine, throw in a movie (depending on my mood of the night), and eat my cooking from one of my favorite recipes, and hang with my cats. :)

    Love your outfit, BTW.

  2. Your single-lady date night is so SO much more stylish than mine would be. This does inspire me though.
For me, every night is single-lady night but I should take myself out for a date every once in a while.
